Dear Katrina.
Even if you have ADD or ADHD, this is not the reason to be disappointed, believe me. I have ADHD. THis is who I am and I accept myself completely.
It's better to find understanding doctor and to get through the diagnostic procedure. Usually it is a Questionaire, consisting of several questions. Also your doctor might suggest some blood work testing or something else. Frankly, it's not so easy to find a doctor, who knows ADD/ADHD. Try to search on the Internet. The most important thing for you is to understand who you are, to know your strong and weak sides. If you really have ADD/ADHD and it will be confirmed, I think, it will be much easier for you to talk to your husband and to explain to him why you do or don't do some things (because you can't or it's difficult for you, or YOU JUST DO it DIFFERENTLY AND HAVE DIFFERENT LEARNING STYLE!). As for expressing thoughts, yes, words don't come easy to ADD people. There are problems with short-term memory amd auditory processing. Expressing thoughts is connected with auditory processing deficits. So, it's not just focusing porblem, this is many-sided "phenomenon"
And please, try to relax, maybe it's the life time opportunity for you to explore yourself.
Good luck.
