Adderall & hair-loss - ADD / ADHD Message Board

I am only 19 and have been losing my hair for about a year now. I am on hair-loss meds & they are not working. Can this be because of the adderall? With in the past 3 months I have started to take about 120mg (4 30mg pills NOT the xr) a day. Over the last 6 weeks the hair-loss has been very drastic. Can this be because of the adderall? I am also getting some kind of dry reddish blotchy rash on my face. (just a little patch about a half a inch from under my left eye)

I am '6 tall & about 160 pounds (I was almost 200lbs a few months ago.)
I have been on Adderall since I was 15
(just in case that info helps any)

Wow!! me too! Severe acne will come next-trust me! I went off Lexapro thinking it was that. Maybe it's the stinkin Adderall!

Ive been on adderall 20 mgs for about a month now and have already seen my hair thinning out. I think its because i havent been eating very much and im lacking nutrients. So i put myself on some vitimanss and believe it or not thats the best thing for you. Also since your not eating very much, when you do eat, try to eat healthy things like veggies and fruit and some kind of protien. I find that works the best for any kind of hair loss.

I've been taking Ritalin for over a year and just randomly for no apparent reason, my hair started to fall out too! Luckily I have long thick hair to began with so it wasn't as bas as It could have been. The odd thing about it- It only happended for like one month. I wondered if It could have something to do with the brand of methylphenidate I was taking. I usually go to the same pharmacy every month, however, the month my hair started falling out I actually went to a different drug store and was given methylphenidate from a different manufactor that time. The next month I went back to my normal pharmacy and no more problems. Do yall take name brand adderall or generic?

Yes, its very possible that these prescription drugs might cause hair loss.
I know accutaine and spiro can cause hair loss.

My question is for the first post.

Which hair loss meds are you taking.
