mosquito bite like rash - ADD / ADHD Message Board

My son has tried adderall, metadate and now vyvanse. Every time he ends up after a few months with a rash all over his body that appears like mosquito bites. He picks at the bite mark so they bleed. doctor said not common and didn't think it was the meds but him scratching. Issue is the bite marks are all over even areas he can't reach so I'm sure it's the medication. Anyone else know of this or know if there is a medication he could switch to?

My son was diagnosed with ADHD 9/2007. He has been on Methylin ER, then Daytrana now Vyvanse. He started Vyvanse in mid-January and I have noticed the same mosquito bites that you are talking about too. They don't seem to itch him though. I would love to know more about this if you find out anything.

The rash you describe falls into the "less common" side effects of stimulant meds. I don't know the fix. Ask a doctor. One that has read the side effect list, that is.
