trazodone and adderall

I have been perscribed adderall for almost a year now and I have never been a good sleeper, and lately its getting worst, so my doctor perscribed me trazodone, and now i have a very bad rash all over my chin, under my chin, cheeks, and under the nose. What can i take for sleeping that wont have this effect?

Re: trazodone and adderall

If it's causing you a rash, you might be allergic.

I assume you've tried things like sleep hygiene, exercise, only taking your adderall early in the day, and avoiding caffeine?

Have you tried Benadryl? It's over the counter, and safer than most prescription sleep aids, though not quite as strong.

Re: trazodone and adderall

I also take trazadone for sleep and get allergic reactions sometimes to it (usually when I have a dose hike) Have you tried Melatonin? It works great for my son with ADHD and myself as well, I have to take 10 mg disolvable lozenge for it to work. Most people start out at 5mg(adults).

Re: trazodone and adderall

hi there,

my son has adhd and also takes Melatonin as he didn't sleep well at all and it works wonders for him, he sleeps 5-6 hours now which is better than before as he would sleep an hour here or there, maybe melatonin is something you could mention to your doctor, worth a try, worked from day 1 with my son.
