Well i can beign to say how doctors some times take this to far with little kids I have a 4 yearold son and one day i took him to the Dr. because in the past and then i was having problems with him listen learning and he was also very very Hyper . well the doctor sent Me to Mental health with him and saw a doctor and he asked a lot of Questions about him when he is at home or whne he is any where else and so i told him and that was it he and i had told him that i have Add/Adhd and that my brother was the sameway and he said well their you go he stared him on Ritalin and he was doing okay but when we went back for a vist weston did not get is med that moring it was not time for it well the Dr. thought it wasnt working and i had told him several times in the office that day that he did not get his pill yet but no he did not list to me ... so he put him on Adderall and when i did get it he was only on it for 5 Days and started seeing things and when i say seeing thing he was seeing Dead people and people that werent even there he was talking to them and that he was on fire so .So i called the doctor and told him what was going on with my son and he was like bring him it it is nothing to worry about well when i did get him down there the doctor saw him for like 5 mins and stayed behind his desk and said he will be okay just make him drink water and call me at 5 pm tha same day
well i called and my son was getting worse and he told he not to worry he will be fine just give him a lot of water but that wasnt good enough for me so i took him to the Er and they said that he was Amphetamine Toxicity so while ther ehe was in for 3 days and he was sadated and the gave him meds to Put his brain to sleep so he would come down ..... so the thing is with everything that happend he is not on adderall any more this just happend ON the 14 of feb 2001 and now he is not to much the same and i need to try to find out if this is a long trem affect or what so if any one cvan be of help please write me back
oh and i did look it up for the neds part like what kids of dosage he should have to well for a 3 to 5 yr the should only get 2.5mgs but the Dr. gave my son 5mgs 3 times aday thanks hope someone can help
