Referral - Southern California (Thanks!) - ADD / ADHD Message Board

Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist who specializes in the diagnosis of adult a.d.d. in the Torrance/Manhattan Beach (South Bay) area of Southern California?

Are you referring to Dr. John Moeller -

I hope so - I just looked up his name on our insurance list and he is listed as a provider.

Do you have any experience with him you would feel comfortable relaying?

Yup that's him. I don't but have heard good things about him. My doc is in the Amen clinic referral list and unfortunatly not covered under insurance. If you are interested in names not covered in the insurance company that work with the Amen clinic let me know.

Thanks for your reply. It's taken me awhile to reply. I made an appointment with Dr. Moeller - but in the interim I took an appointment with ANOTHER psychiatrist covered by insurance and just saw him about an hour ago. I had absolutely no rapport with this guy and I am glad I kept the appointment with Dr. Moeller. It's not very often that I feel an immediate dislike for someone but this was actually set in place by the way they handle things before you even get to the appointment. To make matters worse, he was condescending and at times just rude.

I've looked at the Amen Clinic list and you're right, at least with our insurance none of them are included in the network.

Thanks again for your reply! I hope things go better with Dr. Moeller in January.
