Question Help!Question re: Wellbutrin SR and Ritalin

My husband was prescribed only Wellbutrin SR for three months and he also takes Omega 3 Capsules. The doctor just added Ritalin (generic-Methyl?) 5 mg three times a day. He took the first does of Ritalin last night around 6:00 and he was fine. He actually was able to fall asleep at a normal hour (which he hasn't been able to do since he started the Wellbutrin SR and stay aseleep (which doesn't make sense to me taking the Ritalin and all). However, today he took a dose of the Ritalin at 6:30 AM along with the Wellbutrin SR, then took both again around 3:00 and he started to not feel well. He felt jittery and he took his blood pressure which was high (it was normal at the doctors office yesterday). He's not going to take the PM dose of Ritalin tonight. Does anyone here take Wellbutrin SR and Ritalin? Should he maybe not take the Wellbutrin SR and Ritalin at the same time? The doctor did not tell him when to take the meds. The prescrption says to take the Ritalin three times per day and the Wellbutrin SR 2 times per day. He takes the Omega 3 capsules three times per day with meals. Thanks.

I take wellbutrin and adderall. The 'jittery' feeling sounds like it's from the wellbutrin. Has he tried just plain ritalin ? If so and he needs to take an AD, and wellbutrin still isn't 'agreeing' with his chemistry, then ask your doc about effexor with ritalin.

I currently take Wellbutrin SR and it has effected my sleep significantly. Over time Wellbutrin has caused sexual disfunction and doesn't appear to really help at all on ADD anymore. I previously took Ritalin and it didn't effect my sleep, nor did it effect my pulse, blood pressure or anything else.

I'm still taking Wellbutrin SR and if I take two tablets a day it's not uncommon for me to only get 4 hours of sleep OR no sleep at all.

My doctor recommended taking two capsules a day on Wellbutrin which made me unable to sleep. After over three days without sleep I finally took something else to help me sleep and I did get sleep, however it left me groggy for a day.

I try to only take one tablet a day and now I get almost 5 hours of sleep a day. I hope to be off of Wellbutrin soon so I can get to sleep at a normal hour and sleep a reasonable amount of time.

Talk to your Doctor, Ritalin worked much better for me than Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin started out very well, however, over time the side effects became more pronounced until they are now intollerable. Especially the lack of sleep!

Hello,

I am 40 and have been taking Webutrin SR150 twice daily along with Ritilan LS branded 80mg. The Ritilan has a slow release. I take the Ritilan once in the morning. I take the first dose of Wellbutrin around 11:00am and the 2nd at bedtime appx 11:00pm.

I dont understand why he takes the Ritilan before bed.
The Wellbutrin make make him nervous at first. I still get a bit nervous but it does subside. The Ritilan LA is nice because of the gradual release. My neurologist said there is a big difference between the generic Ritilan LA and the branded not sure about the non time released.

Hope this helps
