HI star4u:
Why would your doctor put you on Celexa for ADD? Is this your primary care doctor or a psychologist/psychiatrist?
Celexa is an antidepressant and is sometimes prescribed in addition to one of the more common types of drugs associated with focus/attention/hyperactivity like Ritalin or Adderol. Obviously you only replied to a posting, but my sense is that prior to taking this drug for ADD that you get a second opinion or do some research on your own. Oftentimes, we simply take the word of a doctor as an authority. I have found that a primary care doctor may not be qualified to make a diagnosis or even prescribe the proper medication and a second opinion is needed as well as you taking responsibility for your wellness.
If I appear judgmental, it is not my intention at all. Physicans are people, and have their own beliefs regarding ADD. Consult an expert or get a second opinion. If you are depressed or have other issues and wish to remain private, perhaps the drug prescribed is appropriate. Good Luck Wil
