I think one benefit to M.A.'s brand of OPC is that it is a quick dissolving powder that is mixed with water. Not only is it easy to take so you don't have to swallow pills, but the absorption rate is very good through the oral mucus membranes.
I've had good luck with powder-to-liquid calcium/magnesium -- it was a different brand though, I forgot the name. But it made a huge difference. Anytime I took calcium in tabs, it did not have anywhere near the same benefit as when I took it in this other form.
Because of that, I'd gather a powdered form would offer an added benefit of absorption rate.
The key ingredient is pycnogenol which is said to be many times more effective than Vitamin C as and Vitamin E.
I've heard of people having great experiences with it for other reasons. As we've all said, we're all different and respond to different drugs as well as different supplements, -- it may be worth a shot.
But whether it's this or meds, IMHO, brands do make a difference. Whether M.A. is better or there are other brands, who knows -- but definitely find what works for you.
