Adderall + Zoloft = ? - ADD / ADHD Message Board

Having only recently been diagnosed with ADD, I have limited knowledge to all the meds used and their effects. I'm 33, and was initially prescribed 10 mg's of Adderall XR alone, for my psychiatrist wanted to first see how I would react to taking it at all. (I have never been on any kind of psychiatric meds before) I saw limited yet some improvement on the 10's, and upon my 2nd visit, he increased the dosage to 20mg's of AdderallXR and introduced Zoloft to help combat my mood swings (frequent crying, burst of anger) as well.

Prior to taking anything at all, (before I even went to the psychiatrist), I had lost 20+ pounds (necessary ones!) and am very happy with my current weight. The Adderall did cause me to have a much lighter appetite, but I have been very good at making sure I eat anyway, so the weight loss hasn't been a major problem for me as of yet. My concern NOW is all the things I am hearing about Zoloft causing weight GAIN! I ABSOLUTELY do not want to gain any weight! I am wondering, for those of you on Zoloft + Adderall (or anything similar), did you experience weight gain DUE TO the drug combo? Loss? Or did you stay the same?
I would be happy staying the same, although I could stand to lose a few more pounds.

My Zoloft dosage is 50 mg's, by the way.

Your thoughts?!?!

Hi,
I have been taking Adderall for a few years now, and when I started taking it I was also taking Zoloft. I took 100mg for about 6 months, and never gained weight from taking it.
I teach at a school for learning different children, many of whom have ADD, and I have noticed that the extended release do not work as well as the regular ritalin or adderall.
Were you experiencing the mood swings before you started taking Adderall?
