I began to notice ringing in my ears shortly after starting adderall 10 mg twice daily for adult ADD. There are very rare mentions of this as a side-effect online, but others have occasionally commented. It is not listed as one of the "ototoxic" medications that are known to cause tinnitus, and my doctors including an ENT have no information. I stopped for a week and noticed no improvement, so re-started the med after consulting my doctors. Anybody else out there experience this, and did anything (including stopping adderall completely) make it better?

I took Adderral for about a month, and I noticed ringing in my ears, too. I think I had noticed some very slight ringing in my ears from time to time before I began it, but that was very rare (and normal?). Since starting Adderall it seems more constant or at least more noticeable. I've been off Adderall for nearly two weeks now, and I still have some ringing in my ears. I did, however, just start taking Strattera three days ago.

I just started using Adderall a month ago and now my ears are ringing so badly that I had to come online to find if this is a side effect of the medication. I have taken Dexedrine for 12 years without any ringing but had to start taking Adderall because the Dexedrine has been out of stock. I'm over 50 so some hearing issues may not be unusual but I didn't even think about hearing issues until 2 weeks ago when this ringing started. The ringing started mildly at first but has escalated in the past few days to the point of being a constant distraction.

I have mild high blood pressure which has been effectively controlled for 20 years. I can't find my blood pressure cuff at this moment but will check it to see if there is a spike due to the Adderall which may be a factor for the ringing. If I find a spike I'll return to this thread and report it.
