New Year's resolutions

I'm typically not a new year's resolution kind of person at all, but this year one of my goals -- physical fitness -- happens to fall right around the new year so I thought I would share it. My goals in this area are:
  • Meditate 3x each day for 10 mins each
  • Cardio exercise 5x a week
  • Weight workout 2x a week
  • Total exercise for 30 mins every day including walking if I don't do cardio or weights
Other than this my ongoing goal is to continue to learn about how my brain works and to do all I can to better understand it, appreciate it, and utilize it to its fullest potential.

Re: New Year's resolutions

Good idea for a thread...I am so not a New Year's resolution person myself...but I love to make reasonable goals...and I need all the support I can get to stick to them!
So this is great!

1. Post Weekly Dinner Menu
(a) plan, shop, cook, accordingly
(b) eat out only once a week with entire family
2. Keep a Daily food Journal
(a)if I don't complete it at night, fill it in the next day
3. Journal negative thoughts when I get stuck
(a) make sure I have notebook and pen in eyesight

I did everything yesterday! Even if it was a struggle...
Today I hit the market and got the ingredients...
Posting this kept me accountable

Tomorrow we eat out. Yes! easy clean up!

Re: New Year's resolutions

I need to add one more thing to my resolution list. My daughter has an anxiety condition. Being that she is a preschooler, as a parent I need to take responsibility for helping her overcome it. We were given a book at a support group meeting a couple of months back, and I've barely picked it up. My resolution is to read it for 15 minutes every day. I've had it on my to-do list every day, but I've not been very good at following through with it. Now it's out there for the world to see!

Re: New Year's resolutions

Weird that reminds me I should check when my books are due.
I just so happen to have a few books out now about child anxiety for my 11 year old daughter. She's been getting headaches in math and social studies. She gets great grades. Last year she had test anxiety. This year not sure if its a combo of sorts. I can see she's like me a lot. I must say I haven't read the books a whole lot because we just had vacation. I read one about the food sensitivity causes problems with kids' anxiety. My girl is so food picky. I had all her lab work done. everything is fine there. Doc says maybe its ....pre hormones.... .ohno ..
