son is scared

Hello, I am wondering if anyone else's child is experiencing this. My son is 8 and for the last 6 mos or so, he has been afraid to be by himself. He will not go anywhere in the house without someone. All doors must be closed. Apparently this all started when he had a bad dream and now feels like the "creature" from his dream is waiting for him to be alone. Needless to say this is just something else that must be accomodated in the house. Making him go by himself is out of the question as you can see the fright, (literally he can **** himself). So I am trying to figure out how he can overcome this. Never had this before, he could go, stay, and play for hours by himself. Other than that, his meds for his ADHD are working pretty well at this point. (low dose risperadal, short acting 10 mg methylphenidate (generic ritalin), and 2 mg. intuniv.) He has ADHD, possible autism spectrum-PDD-NOS.
