Thumbs down loritabs

I have been taking loritab 10 mg. for over 1 year now. I used to take them just for a little buzz and also for back pain. Now I take them to survive it seems. Three weeks ago i went back east to visit my daughter in the hospital. I made sure I had my usual supply to make it thru every day I was there. Normally I take around 6 a day. When I wake up in the morning I pop 2 and every 4 or 5 hours a couple more. It started off with 2 a day and I was fine. The problem is I ran out of loritbs the last 2 days i was there with my daughter. It was awful, I got these flu like symptoms and never lost them. When I got back home my buddy hooked me up with some more, to get me feeling better again. The problem is its like I never recovered from being off them those couple of days. When I wake up every morning now I have the runs and I feel like ****. I tke 2 just to cope with the ****ty feelings. I dont know what to do and why I still feel like ****. Now that Im using them again shouldnt all the pains and tiredness go away/ Shouldnt the runs also subside? Whats going on with me? Oplease help me Im at my wits end.....

You didn't say how long you have been back on them but, I would say that you have built up a tolerance. That is why you have to take more and more to get the same effect. This is very common. You would be better off just stopping cold turkey! You feel like **it for about a week, but then you start to feel better. Don't get me wrong, it will be a very hard week. I mean if it was so easy to quit, everybody would do it. I wasn't able to do it. I went on Suboxone and now I am off that and I still feel lousy! It is a long, hard road but you can do it if you want. Good Luck and hang in there!

Rip,

Why dont you stay off them since you feel like s*** anyway. Since the symptoms you are having still persist after you take the Lortabs I would agree with Satcy that you have built up a tolorence to them and will have to take more to get the same effect. But why dont you try it...if you are having the symptoms anyway, then treat the symptoms and try to stay off the Lortab. I know it is easier said then done. I was on 40 Lortab 10 a day!!! Then I went from Lortab to Ultram. I was taking 30 to 40 a day of those little puppies. Now I have weaned myself to 13 and take a pill away everyday. I wont say it is easy but it can be done. Really, see if the following helps with you symptoms and see how it goes.
Since you are already having symptoms go get Immodium for your stomach. I will tell you what I did and if you want you can try it. Everyone is different but it helped. I took Immodium for the stomach. My doctor took me off my Paxil and gave me Remeron 30mg(help helps you sleep and it works.) Maybe ask your doctor to give you something to help you sleep. I also took a multi-vit a day along with 4 L Tyrosine(this is from that recipe everyone knows about) a vit-B6. If you get restless leg syndrome take very hot baths or showers(this really helps) Try to eat even though you might now want to. Drink(and I mean drink) alot of water. If you need to try to get a couple of Darvocet for the aches and pains along with a blood pressure medication for the W/D symptoms. The symptoms will last about a week, peaking about the second day. It gets easier around the third or fourth day.
Good luck and check in no matter what you do.

Tim
