Taking the methadone, which usually a Dr. determines which dose is the best (depending upon what dose of other opiates you are using) will probably prevent you from feeling withdrawals from the Lortab.
But essentially, you're replacing one opiate with another. Then you will have to deal with withdrawal from the methadone; which usually people taper from gradually since it has a long half life.
There is no bypassing some withdrawal symptoms one way or the other. Is there not a Dr. that you can trust that you may be able to work out a tapering with the Lortab. It's possible the withdrawal for the methadone might be worse than that of the lortab.
Try and talk to a Dr. you can trust.
