Sounds like you're determined and your taking steps in the right direction.
Everybody is different when it comes to the intensity of withdrawal, and since you seem to have worked out some sort of tapering plan at this point; I would try and stick with that plan; and if possible, don't use the clonidine unless you find the withdrawal symptoms (mainly the anxiety, restless legs, etc) to be not bearable for you.
I only say that because, the clonidine will cause alot of fatigue; and if you need to function it might make that more difficult. I pretty much slept right through whatever withdrawal I had a month ago because of the clonidine, but was such a zombie, that I could not do much; couldn't go to work - usually clonidine is good for when you're stopping all at once ..
Try and taper w/o it, and see how you do.
