Post slipped for 2 days...any advice?

I am addicted to hydro. 10 - 15 norco a day for the last couple of years. Last week I quit for 4 days, then filled my script for 30. They, of course, were gone in 2 days. What should I expect as far as w/d's? Have I completely blown it? Am I starting all over or will it be a little bit better this time?
Also, ---how long will I miss them?!! I really DO NOT want to think about pills for the rest of my life. But right now, that is ALL I think about. Will it get easier to move on?

Hi Reluctant, everybody is different; but I recenty relapsed and took vicodin for 2 months than stopped. I, also, was afraid of the withdrawals; would they be as bad as they were when I stopped after 2 years. Well, they weren't (but I didn't take any chances; I got some medical help). My opinion is that they won't be too bad from this slip. Try and get back on track, though, OK? It took me a few months to get back on track...and I'm doing OK now...

BUT, I'm not sure I'll EVER stop thinking about them. I think cravings can go on forever, but I do believe they get less intense with time, and as you begin to feel better from not taking other drugs.

So you slipped; don't be too hard on yourself, get back on the horse and take it from there!

Good luck.

Kitty

Thank you, Kitty! I really really want to do this. I take that back--I want to be DONE with this. I do NOT want to DO it. But I don't see any way out. I keep imagining myself 6 months from know completely clean, and I want to be THERE. I just don't want to have to wade thru all this crap to get there. I really LOVE those pills. And I can't stop thinking about them. I feel pretty good today. But that makes me feel like it would be so much BETTER if I had some...
Words of encouragement, please!!!!

rellunctant,it is my opionin only from experience, that once a person has been addicted to opiates for a long period of time, that you will think about the pills and using for the rest of your life.pain pills are the hardest drug to get off of anywhere period.herion is easier to quit than the pills are.friend of mine told me 3yrs ago that once you get on the pills you can never completely quit again.i laughed at him at the time but now i believe and agree with himm 100%.you might go 20yrs clean but there will not be a day gos by that you will not think about using again.why do you think it is so hard to quit these tablets.

Talking

Hey there! Well,I can tell you that I slipped after 2 weeks of being clean for a day(actually that happened twice) I got mild w/ds for a day or two but NOTHING in comparison to the 1st week of w/d's....its ok....stop thinking about the slip..all is definitely not lost just move ahead and keep thinking about getting through the day clean, easier that way....you will have to wade through all the crap but it is sooooo worth it!! I have been clean for 1 and half months now and the crap is getting less and less everyday...sure there are ups and down but thats the way life is,can't stop that! You just have to learn to deal with things in a healthier way!It sounds like you'll be just fine....keep posting that is a big help! Take care
Okie
