Post Thank God I found you guys.........................

Hello to you all. This is my first post but I have been lurking here for a while. 8-10 Lortab 10 a day.
It has only been that large of an amount for the past year. Prior to that it was 4-6. This has gone on since 1998 off and on.....mostly on. I am now on Wellbutrin and L-Tyrosine. I hope this will help.
I will say the symtoms I have are sweating, hot flashes, chills, no energy, and depression. I do not
enjoy anything anymore. The physical symptoms seem better but I have to change my mindset. Does anyone else feel they will have a bad day if they don't have their pills - even before you get out of bed? Does anyone dream about meds? Does anyone else think about them all of the time? I can't even relax when I do have them anymore because I worry about when I will be out. I don't get a high anymore, they just make me feel normal. I am trying to break this cycle and hope to share with you all. Thank God I found this board and please send me prayers. I really need them. I will pray for you all, also. Does this ever get better?????????

hey kitty!
i'm from charleston. your symptoms are just like my husbands. he LOVES hydrocodone. unlike you, he won't try to stop. so, congrats to you!!!! i am an alcoholic (4 months 8 days). my husband says the cravings are unbelieveable and the depression is debilitating. however, i have friends who have gotten over the hump and its a matter of sticking with it! it was so hard for me to decide that my drinking was out of control not to mention the behavior that went along with it. the strength it takes to go on every day can be mind boggling. what helps me is telling myself, just for today, i will not drink/use. thinking about "forever" is too much. again congrats & welcome!!!!!

Hi, Kitty!
I am exactly where you are. I've been kind of bouncing back and forth for the past 3 weeks or so. And here I am starting all over again. The dreams, OH the DREAMS!! I agree with you. I think I need to change the way I think. For so long, my biggest goal every day was to make sure I had enough pills to do the things I wanted to do. And if I didn't have any, my wheels were turning CONSTANTLY, trying to figure out how I was going to get some. It's such a habit to think about them, that learning how not to is so so hard. I have been taking around 10-15 norco 10/day for the last 2 -3 years. Today, I'm making it 5 minutes at a time. I'm on 49 hours. Woo-hoo! Keep up the good work! You've got lots of hands to hold!

us addicts.....we share alot in common...ive had the dreams alot....they vary with the type of drugs and its so vivid and realistic....i guess with the dreams comes issues that we are dealing with in life and they pop up in our dreams....i dont ever take the drugs in my dreams, its always purchasing them.....i remember when i used to be able to get by on just 10 a day...at the end,or should i say now if i were to relapse, i am up to 10 -12 at a time 4 times daily...could you just see the pharmacist giving you a prescription bottle for lortab 10 that said...take 12 4-5 times a day as needed for withdrawals...and take any extra 5-8 more if you are searching for that buzz you used to get by taking 3......10 years ago......its such a shame...you start off by taking them as directed..then pop a couple more to "feel" good...you chase that feeling that will never be there again.....i remember like it was yesterday when in 1979 i took a percocett(maybe a percodan) at college and i was feeling great for 1/2 the day....then to last year when i was paying 7 bucks a piece for 45 just so i could function and not be sick....thats a 300 a day habit...wish i could recoup all my losses right about now....gotta go cook a couple dinners,by for now.........the chef
