hey phil. I have done the taper today but have had a dull, throbbing headache (always my first sign of wd) all day which turned into a really doozey by this eveving. I took my one at 7:30 but i broke down and took one more at 8:15 when the pain was still really bad.

My first question; if I am putting the same amount of pills in me, why the headache? Should I skip my 11:30 pill since I took one "out of turn" so to speak?

Also, is vicoprohpen 7.5/200 the same as vicoden es 7.5/750? part of my taper is going to have to be with the vicoden and wasn't sure If I needed to adjust.

I was so nervous about starting the taper today that I barely slept last night. If you get this soon let me know about the 11:30 pill. thanks so much phil

IF you think the headache is a sign of WD then we may need to shorten the interval time to get stabilized.

Let me help with what may be a myth about tapering. When you taper there is a level of discomfort. Now this may be a headache or running nose or something very mild, but tapering has it's "side effects" Why folks taper is the side effects are substantially less distressing then full blown CT. Minimization is the key with taper.

In a round about way Edie what I'm saying is your going to feel something when you taper, we just don't want that something to be very distressing or to minimize the distress.

That make sense?

I know I am being a big baby...I just can't stand to feel bad. Kids and business still have to be taken care of (which was my excuse for using to begin with) I have done pretty well on the taper but missed a middle of the night and took two in the am.

did you know if the vicoden es is the same as the vicoprofen, I going to have to get into them to finish and didn't know if they were stronger or weaker. Thanks for everything Phil.

Eddie-

From what I know, Vicodin contains Tylenol/Acetaminophen

The other contains Advil/Ibuproben (SP?)

However the Hydro in them is 7.5, that is what you are addicted to.

Just something to think about but you may simply have a headache because you are "stressing" about the taper plan and have nothing to do with the amount. Headaches as you know can start for any reason which most are from just simple stress. Boy the term "simple" stress is an understatement. For me no stress is ever simple.
