Hello...........My name is Rene and I have been taking Ten 10mg methadone for almost 3 years. I didn't start that high.
They are now affecting me different and I want to get off of them. I know methadone takes longer because they stay in your body longer.
I have been taking 3 pills a day for about a week and I am really having a hard time. Does anyone know anything about this.......am I not taking enough for just starting getting off.
Any help would be real nice. Thanks, Rene

I want to get off the methodone and I don't know how to taper. I've been trying myself but the 5th day I started getting real bad. I'm not sure if only 3 a day after taking 10 a day might be not enough .

i take meth,60mg a day for pain/addiction......ive got problems with my back and have been using opiates for years and years.....i was on methadone in 1984 for awhile also....if you are taking 30 mg versus 100 mg a day ,yes you are going to feel a huge difference and probably be in w/d's....are you goin to a doc for your med's....does he know you wish to get off?..........chef

The best way to taper off of methadone is to go down very slowly. Take your time if possible. If that is not possible than do the best you can. Going from 100mg a day to 30mg a day is pretty drastic. Going down 10mg a week can be pretty drastic. But it would be a much better choice. Best of luck to you. Tela.
