hey rock-
i have a question about effects of different doses of methadone. my husband is on it and is doing well with work, family outings, etc but last night he felt asleep on the toilet. like completely out like a light for 1/2 hour. after he woke up, completely freaked about nodding off like that, he told me that he told his dr at the clinic that he was having pain in his joints (which i knew about) and they upped him from 60 mg to 75 mgs. he also told me he drank a couple of beers at our friends house before he came home. could the higher dosage cause this or is the combo of alcohol too?

to me i think it is the beer that caused it, with a lesser effect coming from the increase. granted it was a small increase but sometimes that in combination with something like a couple beers can provide for a bit of a nod. initially when i started with methadone i did nod just a bit. only enough to know that i was nodding. however, as soon as the doses became regular and my body was used to it there was no nod effect at all. all in all i think it is nothing to worry about. i would study the issue if it started to happen more often.
