I am off Valium for good!

Took my last dose yesterday. Spent 8 months tapering down from 30 to 2 mgs. This is my second and last withdrawal. Thanks for all the support here and keep me in your thoughts.

Howard -- That's WONDERFUL!! I know you have struggled with this for so long--and I have always hoped that one day, a post like this would pop up on the board from you!

Have a happy...and peaceful life...always, Lynn

Hey thanks for asking. I am more hyper than normal and have muscle tightness. Valium can take a long time to clear the system plus it can leave behind remnants of the chemical alterations it has made. Recovery may take a while but one thing is sure, this is it. I am off that stuff and there is no going back. No more bottles, no more pill cutting, so this is a new beginning. How are you?

Re: I am off Valium for good!

Congratulations Howard!

I always wondered when your thread would have its happy ending...now I know that the answer to "when will it ever end?" was "today." I always read that thread from afar and enjoyed the conversation between you and the others, primarily 'no patience.' She will be so happy for you...

The board salutes you, Howard, and I hope things continue to go onward and upward for you .

Good job, H. Staying away from the benzo board might be a wise idea at this point. No use subjecting yourself to all that garbage. It has been a long, difficult road for you.....now you are free.

yer pal,
W

Thanks Lisa, hope you are well. Day 5 and just typical stuff, a bit anxious, neck is tight, some heat sensations, nothing dramatic.

Re: I am off Valium for good!

Howard,

I am so very proud FOR and OF you! I have been just "scanning" through the boards lately as I have been so incredibily busy at times or just incredibily blah at times- either case- not a good time to post! This was a "welcome back" suprise- huh?

CONGRATULATIONS and keep your chin up for the next several days- you may hit a rough patch here or there!
Take care and God bless,
Michelle

Thanks Michelle. Is 11 days now and it`s pretty bad, shakes, burning sensations, sweats, etc. Took 5 days for it all to hit.

Update: Is some improvement today, is the way this goes...

Re: I am off Valium for good!

Hang in there, Howard!

You will probably have alot of good days and bad. Someone here once said, "Two steps forward, one step back..." and so on! So, keep moving along- K?

Talk soon! Take care,
Michelle
