Stopping Suboxone after a few days?

Has any body ever done this? Has anyone tappered quickly to get it over with? Like say 7 days? I'm on day 4 since I stopped Thursday and started Suboxone on Friday. Sub is making me feel a little crappy and I still have ALOT of Anxiety and some w/d through out the course of the day even with Clonidine patch. I'm thinking of weening off quicker though. Hopefully by Friday so I can stay the weekend and suffer. I keep saying to myself I gotta w/d from Sub sooner or later, mide as well be sooner. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this? Any suggestions. Thanks DJ...

Hey DJ, I was taking opiates for 3 years- I was on Sub for 7 days only and tapered off of it. You will still have w/d no matter what, but in my experience it was a about two weeks after I stopped taking Sub I felt better.

People on this board have taken it longer, but the doctor at rehab had me on a patch every 4 days and sub taper w/i 7 days. The people who were d/t from benzos were on sub longer.

I was on for about 3+ years too. Suboxone is not what it's all cracked up to be. Yeah it helps ease the w/d systems, but it's still a living hell. It's been 5 days since I've taken any Oxy's and such, and they were my down fall in the first place for pain. I took 3mg of Sub yesterday down from 4. I think I'm just gonna deal with it and when it gets bad take 1 mg (1/2) or .5mg (1/4) as a little crutch. I realized I can do it and leave work early if needed. Got a real cool boss who understands what's going on. Told me to do what I need to and let him know if I need him for anything. Not bad for a big corporation.

Thanks for replying back, for your support.

Re: Stopping Suboxone after a few days?

should i ask my doctor about sub? i was taking oxycontin for a few months and 40mg a day, then to 80mg a day. there was days where i did more. then i gradually tried to get off.. went through some pains, was only taking half of a 20mg pill, or 10mg..everytime i had to deal with the pain, so i wouldnt.

Dr. put me on Vicodin, 14 pills past Friday, I was back on Monday--one left. It was supposed to be 1 pill in the AM, 1 in the PM--i was taking 2 and 2 because of the pains. OC's and Vicodin is totally different... he was nice enough to give me one more script--with 30. wants me to do 10 days and then get off of it and take 1 every 24 hours. How much more pain am i going to have to go through? This is horrible. Ive ********** my last semester up and i start classes TOMORROW!

Thanks and goodluck to everyone who's trying to get off of dangerous opiates.

Re: Stopping Suboxone after a few days?

Gangstar,

As you know from reading this crap is brutal. I stayed on Sub for 5 days and stopped. It's been 7 days since I took a .5mg. It works for some people and some maintain. Good luck and try to get off. It's not easy.

DJ
