| Re: Question about mental Health Counselors
There are good counsellors and bad ones. Just like there are good teachers and bad teachers. You are paying for a service. Don't waste your time or money on one you don't feel comfortable with. Trust your gut. Some aren't any good, are very opinionated, just don't know their job, aren't people persons or just go into work because it is thier vocation choice and they need to collect thier pay.
A good counsellor will make you feel comfortable, safe and someone you should trust. Counselling should be a give and take experience, where you talk, they are interested in what you say and give you constructive input to help you.
Do a search on the internet on how to pick a good cousnellor, I am sure there are many articles dedicated to this.
Hope this helped.
