I'm feeling pretty bad at the moment - Addiction & Recovery Message Board

I can barley walk around, I am exhausted and weak. Because of my alcoholism, my house is trashed. I have been trying to do alittle everyday, but I am overwhelmed right now. Thank goodness I put a pork roast in the clow cooker this morning, I dont think I could cook for my husband later.
My husband is not an alcoholic. I dont think he understands what I am going through. I wanted to talk to him when he got home last night (he was away for the weekend) but he wasnt feeling well and tired. We had dinner and went to bed.
Any advise?

Hi Marilyn,

I don't have any good advice, but I would try to level with him. I'm sure he's noticed that you drank. And probably that you had a problem with it. He'll surely be on your side and supportive. I wish you luck sweetie. And I know about the filth. How could I have thought that pills gave me energy when my house is a sty? So awful. Hang in there. WE've got to get our strengh back. It's day 3 and it's a bit8ch!

The house is not important Marilyn you have the rest of your life to clean it as far as hubby is concerned of course he doesnt understand,only another alcoholic can which is why A/A is so important to you,ask him to bear with you for a couple of weeks until you are felling better,i dont know much about alcohlism my daughter was addicted to drugs but i do know day 3 was the peak of her w/ds,you are doing absolutley fantastic and im so proud of you,im sure someone will post and give you more info on how you can help yourself to feel better,keep strong,love and hugs,sadmum

Deb and SadMum, You made me cry which is very easy these days. My husband is due home any min and I am a mess. I cant stop sweating so you can only imagine how good I look right now.

I did manage - dont know how- to give the two doggies a bath, clean our bedroom and bath. I did the Kitchen yesterday. I need a meeting. Bad, Double bad. Please pray for me ok? I really am a mess, emotionally, physically and ................

Hang in there Marilyn. You know, I've cried every time I hear on the news that crocodile hunter steve irwin died. It's tearing me up. ***? He seemed like such an invincible guy, family. Emotions are flooding out b/c we aren't numbing them anymore. Just pull it together and give your hubby a chance to be supportive. And yea, get to a meeting. I'm going to try to go to one too I think. Hang in there!
