Good with the bad, Literally.week off Vikes

Well I posted last week and Ive been without any vicodins for a week now. I took ultram form awhile, but always had the muscles relaxers to fall back on for sleep and to help with spasms, pain, ect. Ive have been doing really good...........................

Then today, Wednesday, I took 2 Soma when i woke up. ( ive taken them 2 at a time for as long as ive been taking them with out any effect) Today they messed me up. Was slurring and staggering. My husband blew up about this we got in an arguement. So to show him I didnt need anything, I flushed ALL my meds down the toilet, and have been wanted to kill myself since. I was doing very well. I had planned on not going to get my refills. I seem to have this need to feel high though, and the muscle relaxers did at least a little.

I even threw out my prozac. What the hell happened today. I had just got my refills last nigh for the soma, and last week for the zanaflex. Now I have nothing. He told me he was going to leave me. I didnt know what else to do to prove to him I was ok. NOw I cant go to sleep at all, and Im hurting sooooooo bad. Rememeber I was taking meds for legit pain, and the tylanol PM just isnt cutting it. I am so angry with him and myself. I dont know what to do. PS I havent taken any ultram in 2 days.

Re: Good with the bad, Literally.week off Vikes

I have been off vicoden and valium for about a month now. I know all people arent alike but if i were you I would make a doc appointment quickly. it isn't safe to go off all those meds at one time. But I would make my husband go with me to the doc. Let the doc explain the danger of going off all those meds at one time.

Even though I was taken off of the vicoden and valium. I was put on colonazepam to help with withdraw, I will eventually be tapered off of this. I've taken zoloft for many years to and the dosage was upped on it. I also take a beta blocker for rapid heart beat/panic attacks.
You might consider going as inpatient to help control the meds. I went inpatient years ago to get off xanax. I swore at that time i'd never let another doc give me "nerve" meds. When my dad was dying, i gave into taking valium. that was in 2001. the vicoden was a way of the doctor masking a blockage in the colon being I dont have insurance, he wouldn't get to the root of the pain. He also had my mom on methadone. she is almost a month clean from it. Needless to say he IS NOT our doctor any longer.

Being I am Bipolar, some meds are needed to keep me at a even level. There was a time I had my husband go to the doctor with me and the doc explained what it was like "the best he could" to live with being bipolar. I think your husband needs to be educated where you and your medical needs are concerned.

I am happy to say, i have more energy, my eyes are brighter, and i am doing well. December was not so great going off the meds but Im glad now that I did. best of luck to you. Please get to your doc and explain what and why you flushed your meds.

Jackie

I am ok. Just irritated that I through out those meds. Couldnt sleep last night at all and cant stop feeling cold. But it is like 40 degrees outside so I guess that I could expect that. I have my monthly doc appt tomorrow. So I am sure things will be fine. My husband is usually pretty good about everything just doesnt like the kids see mee mediated. I told him that its gna happen because Im on medication. He overreacted because theres been a couple of ordeals latley that really pushed it. Its under the 1st post I posted. Anyways thanks for listening everyone.
