It is VERY dangerous, expensive and unnecessary. Most experts consider it a scam. All it does is remove the drugs from your body. (so would 3-6 days of nothing) It does nothing for the brain disease of addiction. Relapses are measured in hours not days. There was a study in the Journal of American medical Association JAMA a couple of years ago, comparing it to buprenorphine and clonidine, the study concluded it had no place in modern medical treatment for addiction. One doctor in New jersey lost his license because 7 of his patients died during or as a result of the procedure (which is carried out in an intensive care unit) Do a search and you will find the articles.
If you cannot stop without medication talk to a doctor about buprenorphine treatment. It is safe (no one in the US has died from buprenorphine) and much less expensive, but most of all allows the brain disease of addiction to be treated. Best of luck.
