| quiting tramadol was easy for me...
I have been using tramadol for 3/4 years for depression. It was given as a pain killer but I also realized that it worked great for my depression. I have tapered down to about 2 a day. I am tired of begging my doctor for more and don't want to buy them anymore over the internet.
I had a long talk with my doctor and told him what I have been using them for. He was surprised to hear that they worked in that manner. He had no clue!
Anyway he gave me a bunch of samples of Cymbalta. The first week I have been taking the Cymbalta and only 1 tramadol a day. I just didn't want to deal with Withdrawals. The only problem I had the first week is that all I wanted to do is sleep a lot. I would sleep 10 to 12 hours a day.
The second week I dropped the tramadol and only started taking Cymbalta and was still feeling a little sleepy. Then after 10 or 11 days I started feeling great. Most of the time I felt that I was doing speed. Didn't want to sleep anymore. It's been 6 weeks now and I haven't felt this good in 20 years.
The Cymbalta is starting to level off and I still fell great. I didn't have any withdrawals from the tramadol.
Going to work is a pleasure now and I enjoy dealing with people again. The funny part is that my family thinks now I'm on some type of illegal drug because I'm so talkative most of the time. That's kind of funny because they never realize it when I was getting high for years.
This may not work for everyone but its working for me. It may give you one more option when you deal with addication. I plan on staying with Cymbalta forever or it in time it stops working I will explore with my doctor another form od AD's. Cymbalta is my first one to try and I feel very lucky how well its working.
Hope I never have to go begging for pain medication ever again. The only downside is you may have a hard time sleeping for about 2 weeks and may loss a few pounds becuse you won't feel hungry. But you will feel good.
Just wanted to share.
