No matter what the vice may be, we are all going through a very rough time! ANd we all benefit from words of encouragement and especially from Spark's Jokes!! (read his posts- and you will get a good laugh)
Thank you so much guys! I really don't feel I have anyone to talk to about it. In reality I do, but I don't want share something like this with others. I am afraid of judgement. I am the type that fixes and cares for everyone else. I am considered "Super Mom" by others and I don't want to let people down. Anyway I will jump into the conversations slowly!
Hi mom of twins plus 1.
If it helps, you've helped me...I've been scanning this sight so often, and so rarely I find someone discussing problems with alcohol. I'm also, a super mom, plus two, functioning fine apparently, but wake up looking forward to that first sweet drink. Tentatively stepping towards who knows what, but knowing i'm a poor example...I hope you see this.
There's one thing for sure...you're DEFINATELY in the right place!! These boards - and more importantly the people on them - have been an absolute salvation to me....(more than once embarrasingly enough)!! As you are Super Mom, I am Super Dad (single w/ six of 'em), and have had my own battles with the booze. It is definately not easy, but stick around here for a while....you'll surely find the help and support you need.
So welcome....there are a TON of good eggs here to help you thru this!!
Alcohol is alcohol and a drug is a drug and alcohol is a drug, It's a big bag of don't want to do it anymore. I started drinking in my teens, then went to drugs, then to drinking, then to both, then to none, then to pills, then to alcohol, then to both, then to none, and here I am, cleaning off the dust, clearing my side of the street, watching I don't fall in any more potholes. Staying clean and sober is the most important thing in my life. I pray every morning to stay away and I say my thank-yous at the end of each day. Sick n tired and more of the sick n tired, I pray to stay in the past. Do you have any kind of a support group? someone you can talk too, someone you can get honest with, someone you can share with, a friend, a doctor, a group, a family member, a teddy-bear, this board is very safe, we are here for you.
