Hello. I was on Oxycontin for a couple of years because of a damaged nerve problem. I came off of it in August 2007 and was put on Subutex. Now, I'm trying to get off the Subutex, but when I take less than .5 mg per day, I get a terrible, constant withdrawal headache. Since .5 mg per day is about as low as you can go, I'm now to the point where I must just stop it. I did that about two days ago and the withdrawal headache has not gone away yet. How long will it last? Thanks.

you can go much lower than .5mg, get a razorblade and slice off little pieces of sub over the next month and this will help you much more.the .5mg is a very large dose to come off of and the success rate at .5mg is less than 10%make it to soberiety,its to much to jump from.go back on the .5mg and taper down to nothing but mouse turd crumbs of sub and you will make it.good luck-spark

Thanks very much for the reply. I did try to go to .25 (or my approximation thereof) for 5 days, and the headache never let up. Should I try to do something in beteen .25 and .50? Also, should I take the med at the same time everyday even if I feel ok at the time? Or should I want until the headaches starts to take the med? Thanks again.
