Re: does suboxone make you sick if you take other opiates with it?

there is no need to take other opiods while on suboxone,so there is no need to answer your question,or did i just answer itif a person has to take other opiods while on sub, then i would not start sub until pain is under control.otherwise its all a waste of time.good luck-spark

Re: does suboxone make you sick if you take other opiates with it?

If you take another opiate too soon after taking suboxone, you can go into acute withdrawl, which is like withdrawl x 10. That's why you have to be in moderate withdrawl before taking suboxone, and severe withdrawl is even better for starting...makes you appreciate it more and you can get by on a lesser dose.

Re: does suboxone make you sick if you take other opiates with it?

If you take suboxone without being in wd's already you can get sick. But if you take another opiate while already on Suboxone you won't get sick, it just will have no effect. Nothing. If you're being prescribed Suboxone this should have been explained to you, that is the reason Suboxone is used for Opiate Addiction, it works as a help in the recovery process. It can also be used for pain management since it contains an opiate itself. There are people here that I am sure are far more knowledgeable in the chemical aspect of it. Sometimes there are reasons people may need to take other opiates if they are on Suboxone, if someone has surgery for example. But I think if other opiates are required for a legit medical reason then your doctor is the one who would and should work it out.
