I detoxed two months ago and last week I caved in and have been taking one half a norco for a week now. Will my w/d's be as bad as if I were taking 6 norco a day?

Hello Caraace,
There is no way to tell, as each individual is different.
Please seek the advice of a trained professional when going back onto a med; preferably one who already knows your history.
Not sure about that one.
This is my first and last go around with the JUNK.
I also say talk to your Doc. Be honest so he/she can really help.
I see a shrink myself to help. I detoxed off booze 8 years ago so I went back to the same shrink for help. We are working on my issues.
Meetings and message board also.
I also do quite a bit of praying myself but to each his/her own.
You must remember the W/D's vividly?
Don't start driving down the road to H*LL again.
You got out once so you can do it again. I would say the sooner the better. Flush them suckers and get happy again hun.

I did talk with a professional yesterday and they think I should start Suboxone because I am still craving hydro. This is the hardest situation I have ever been in ever in my life. Addiction is powerful and I try to be strong but, I become so weak at times.

Thank you Baja. I do remember the W/D's vividly and that is why I can't belive I gave into my craving. Today is a new day and I refuse to take anything but my vitamines.
Peace,

Hello Caraace,
I would listen to the professional.
Yes, the psychology of addiction can be overwhelming at times; just like the psychology of pain(both physical and psychological).
One can become both psychologically and physically addicted at different intervals.
I have no experience with SUB but from reading here I think there is potential for W/D's when you go off that too??
I am NOT a DOCTOR. Just read some more and ask the Doc. about that.
Just trying to help. I wouldn't want to see you back here with a Sub problem and I'm not sure if it is even a possibility.
It was just a question I had in my mind because I have seen it here on this board.
Maybe someone with SUB experience here on the board can help with that question? I am not really sure.

Know that you are not alone in all of this.

That is one of the reasons I am glad I discovered the mesage board yesterday. I realize there are a lot of people who are going thru the same thing and I wish the best for everyone who is going for the clean and sober life.
Take care

The way it was explained to me was you are put on a dossage to stop the cravings and then you are weined down. But, I also have noticed that some people are trying to get off of SUB and having a hard time. I have two weeks to make the decision so, I will do my homework before I take that step.
Peace,
