[Best of Luck to you both. It has to be a great feeling to wake up without that monkey on your back. Remember this ....... " if nothing changes, nothing changes "!! This was something I had a really hard time with after my "pink cloud" period. The only thing that changed for me was that I wasn't putting those pills in my mouth every day. Since I didn't make any changes to my way of life and the decisions that I made, it didn't take long for me to deal with normal, everyday life the only way I new how - cover it up! That way is still in my default mode - I have to think really hard sometimes about how to deal with life in the present and not just put it off till the high goes away.
Just think - how many times in life do we get the chance to change our playgrounds, playthings and playmates - and do it not because we have to but because we want to? Only accept visitors from your front door - we as addicts can't afford to leave the back door open (not even a peep hole )
THe sub is an opiate. Don't stop being clean, don't stop moving forward, but don't fool yourself that the sub isn't a drug, too. Please. I did and now I am really in pain, mental and physical because I thought I was all better and just stopped it. Cold. Now, I learn too late that my body needed and wanted and used the sub and wants it back. Just taper, taper, taper and get off when you can. Good luck and god bless. Take care of each other. Does it help to have each other to understand what you're going through? Enjoy the sunshine, keep it shining.
Just stopping in to wish you well. You keep doing what you are doing to get that thinking where it belongs and looking for life in all the right places.
Capt... sub does have an opiate blocker in it , but it contains an opiate as well. It has more than one ingredient in it. The combination of ingredients is such that it should prevent cravings for other opiates and I believe you will get quite sick if you try and take any other opiate.
Yes, you will have to taper off it. However, it is stopping the drug seeking behaviour. We all go different routes to get clean. Honestly, I think that sub is the correct choice for you... too may relapses and not being capable of getting sober-thinking and sober. The sub is allowing you the time to get the help and work on the thinking changes that need to take place. When it is time to taper, the thinking should be ready for it. Cross that bridge when it appears. Work with your doctors and each other.
