just for anyone who can have an idea how my body feels. Yes it's four thirty in the damn morning cause i can't sleep. The pharmacy opens in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, hours! tick' tock tick' tock the clock ticks as do my nerves. There is 1 thing i'm sure of i not using oxy, cause
I'll battle the beast till the sun comes up!
and when that pharmacist in white jacket hands me the cup.
this war is over.
Then it's sleepy time cause this soldier is TIRED!
tired of tossing and turning......
maybe I will try again to just close my eyes and fall asleep.
hope everyones ok and doing fine i am ok but will be a lot better at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or so
if you missed 1 day then you shouldnt feel the full effects of W/d's, methadone stays in your system for up to 3 days before the real W/d's start. I know its hard and a big part of the battle is psychological - but go for a hot bath etc and try and get your head down til the pharmacy opens mate.
i hope the time passes quickly.

Yoss,
I have asked my doctors about that actually and they said that it's more than less to each their own. It depends on a lot of things such as age, weight, tolerance, how long you've been on the program and the psychological aspect. I have also been told by my doctors it has a 36 hour half life. meaning:
If your dose is 50mg in 36 hours it will have gone down to 25mg
In the next 36 hours it will have gone down to 12.5mg and so on.
by three days or so it is out of your system and the full effect of w/d's kick in. You are right about the psychological part of it and my docs say I do make it worse for myself by working myself up, counting time, etc. The next time I miss my drink I will try the hot bath thing for sure!
hey push - im glad you made it to the pharmacist tho. I hope you're feeling better now. i once missed my methadone on xmas eve & the pharmacist refused to give me my takeaway dosage for xmas day & boxing day (and xmas eve fell on the sunday that year - so no phoning doctors or keyworkers etc!). Its very traumatic and the psychological part is half problem. anyway - im glad you're ok.
