You may not get a lot of response on this because this is not a drug used in the U.S., I presume you are in the U.K.? This is a short acting med with about a 4 hr half life. The fact that you can get by for 12 hours or so in between doses doesn't mean you do not have a physical dependence. If your pain is controlable without narcotic or opiod meds then you could try tapering off the med and see how you react. Have you talked to your prescribing doc about this?
