Re: Norco Withdrawl... not quite a addict yet...

It is a controlled substance actually. Each teaspoon of syrup has 10mg of hydrocodone in it...you have to be careful with those products, you think they just have a little bit in them, but they generally have a pretty good amount. You'd be surprised how many people get hooked on hydro just from drinking the cough syrup.

Awesome. Ug. It says to take every 12 hours. 10mg every 12 hours is significantly less than I was taking. If I take a dose a day (its a very small bottle) that would be tapering I would think?

Re: Norco Withdrawl... not quite a addict yet...

Okay, you were taking Norco 7.5/325 which means you were getting 7.5 mgs of hydro per pill. You last took 2 pills tuesday night, so you got 15 mgs. of hydro. You haven't had any for about 24 hours. If you take it per the bottle instructions twice a day, you'll be taking 20mgs a day which is going up, if you take 1 tspn a day you'll be going down to 10mg a day, but you'll be constantly taking 10 mg a day. Tapering is when you take a certain amount for a couple of days and then lower it. Say that bottle lasts for 10 days, if you take a steady 10 mg of hydro each day, your just building it back up in your system, when you run out of cough syrup, you'll start over with the crappy, icky feelings.

Could you get an OTC cough syrup without the narcotic? Your cough is probably not as bad since the anti-biotics cleared the bronchitis, perhaps regular cough syrup and/or cough drops would work. You can also rub Vick vapor rub on your chest, neck and below your nose, this helps you keep from coughing at night while you sleep.
