Off of methadone

I have been on Methadone for 2 years for RSD and I have slowly tapered down from 5mg a day to 1/4 and today I have had none. I have my other pain med but so far so good. I have pain in my legs but i haven't decided if it is from the tapering or my normal pain. I decided to go off of it cause of the horror stories I have read about it and honestly it wasn't helping with my pain anyway. Should I be worried about withdrawls?I keep telling myself I will be fine.

Re: Off of methadone

Yes. My husband was only on methadone a few months for his RSD. Then his script was unable to be filled. He was in full withdrawal mode within 3 days. Yes that stuff is awful. He said it helped a lot with his pain.
