UPUPUPNAWAY,
If you're taking 20 pills a day and you 'need them', do you really think that you have the willpower to try to 'taper' yourself down to only 4 or 6 a day? I know that I could not do it. So now I have just stopped taking them completely. It is tough....VERY tough, but I need to do this so I can be ME again. I've been on a 2 year buzz from Ultram and it hurt many aspects of my life. I want my life back now.
PLEASE get help ok! I know that you sent me an email about getting together online to chat about it, and hopefully we will soon. Good Luck and take care.

Sorry - you are indeed a pro, my dear, a professional addict. Do you honestly believe you "taper down" and live a happy healthy and productive life? You have already admitted to the deceptive self-serving addictive behavior we have all indulged in - trust me, there is no such thing as tapering down - you will need to cease. Addiction is a progressive disease - if you want to stick around for it to get worse - when you start stealing or doing harder drugs or whatever, go ahead. However, if you want help - go ask for it - go to rehab and get unhooked. Then follow up with an aftercare program to get your head on straight. Ask for help and you will get it. Keep up with what your doing and I ASSURE you your life will get worse - much worse. Take good care.

Please, please, please, STOP, and get help!
You are not supposed to take more than 400 mg. of Ultram per day. You can induce seizure
activity, or just plain DIE! Tell your doctor
or ask him to put you in Detox. Then from there you can get the help you need with your addiction. This drug can give you terrible problems if you continue to abuse it. It is very dangerous. And what is really sad is that this drug was created as a non-narcotic analgesic, it was supposed to be non-addictive as well. Now everyone is getting addicted to Ultram. Please, talk to
your doctor, or anyone you trust, and get some help. Do NOT try to get off the med by
yourself! You must be professionally detoxed,
it is very dangerous. God bless and I'll be
praying for you.

Hey girlie girl.

Now that I'm at work I can log in and actually post a reply. I agree with the others in that you need to find a way to kick this addiction. As someone who recently went through a detox program I can recommend this is the way to go. I've got an addiction to coke and pot and I knew the only way for me to kick either was to go to detox followed by rehab.

I learned a lot from my experience. Most notably that I was actively killing myself while I was getting high and that ultimately I do not want to die. It sounds like the two of us have a shared history and there are many others here who can help with words of encouragement.

Having said all that - you have to be the one that's determined to quit or cut back. Going into treatment at a rehab/detox may be helpful if you're honest about your addiction and desire to be free of that addiction. They may be able to prescribe meds that aren't addicting but that serve the same purpose. I never believed I'd say it but you have to trust the medical community and keep trying things until something works. Email if you need me...
