Question Been about a year since drugs, but...

Been about a year and maybe four months since I've been clean from drugs. Every drug I did was: marijuana, ecstasy, cough medicine, shrooms, LSD, adderall and ritalin. The ones I am mainly concerned about are surprisingly the ADD medicines like Adderall and Ritalin. Ecstasy also concerns me. After all this time being clean and sober I still feel somewhere in my head that I will never get my mind back. The one I had before I did drugs. My mind restarts whenever I find happiness. I hold to it. Anything exciting I always notice right away. It's as if I'm addicted to feeling good. Question: has anyone been in a similar situation and is now able to go through life without always noticing everything good. Without noticing EVERYTHING really. I just want it to slow down. Other comments: ever since I have done drugs I feel my heart is not the way it was either. May have done damage to my heart with all the Adderall.

Re: Been about a year since drugs, but...

Have u ever had a work up at the doc? You could tell him your story, if you are comfortable. As I know brain scans can find brain issues that extant can leave behind.
Or you could see a therapist. They know amir about how those drugs deplete the brain and how long it can take to be "you" again if possible.
A good therapist won't judge you and should list in their qualifications "drug issues@ or whatever. You need someone who focuses on that and not, say, marriage counseling.
Good luck and keep us posted. Even though permanent things can happen, many times it can be a learned behaviour from the pills or just left over stuff. If u used for a while, you gotta expect that it's gonna take time for your body and brain to do all the repair needed.

my issues have issues!
