Going to taper from Sub

Hi, I have been on subutex for about 7 years now. I had an addiction to vicodin at one time and sub physician put me on subutex. I wish I would have tapered from this long ago.

I have been able to taper down to crumbs at certain times with little or no withdrawals. But for some reason I go back up again. This time I've had it. I don't want to be on subutex anymore. I'm drowsy most of the time, my short term memory is for crap and I just don't like it, never did really.

I know that I can taper down to almost nothing, but the trick is to finally jump off and stay off. Any suggestions. Anyone on here able to taper off and stay off?

Thanks.

Re: Going to taper from Sub

Hello and welcome.

You should really have a complete physical and have your prescribing physician discuss the results with you.

Studies have shown that long-term use of Vicodin (acetaminophen and hydrocodone) has been associated with liver problems.

Better safe than sorry.

Respectfully
