That sounds like a very typical response from most Drs. When the problem is not evident or severe (like life threatening) then it is either not appreciated or treated. I want to sound encouraging here because I know first hand that help is out there. But I also know that I almost died before I got the help I needed. The symptoms of Adrenal problems can vary so much and can be so vague. One very common symptom is also depression. My Dr. told me that one of difficulties with diagnosis is that the patient appears to be depressed and then, of course, they can't really find anything wrong so you appear to be a hypochondriac. And so on.
One thing I learned from my experience is that you have to be PERSISTANT and really PUSH. Constantly. I took my husband with me to alot of appts. because he was someone else that could vouch for the fact that I was not my normal self and that something PHYSICAL was wrong. So if you have someone who can be an advocate for you (either a parent, sibling, close friend, spouse, etc.) then take them with you. Call your Dr. and set up an appt to just go in and TALK with him or her. Sometimes having a specific time for just that, rather than trying to talk while he is evaluating physical symptoms can be helpful. I have done this several times and we have very open and honest talks without feeling a major time constraint. See if he will level with you on what the problem might be.
For months my test results were "normal". They still can't explain it.
