Hello,

You know if it is ok to take both cortef and armour with breakfast, or could this affect the absorption of the thyroid hormone?

Rob, I used to take my thyroid med & hydocortisone or prednisone together. My endo says as long as you do it the same all the time it is OK.

Now that I am retired I take the thyroid med about 5am while still in bed & my first dose of prednisone about 6am.

Anyway I don't think it really matters. (my opinion).

Rob, you need to be careful with taking the thryoid med and breakfast at the same time. Calcium and other things disturb the absortion of the med. Check out the thyroid board there are alot of threads about this.

I take everything together in the morning before breakfast. My endo said as long as I do it the same way every day and it's consistent, it's okay. Most advocate taking the thyroid meds on an empty stomach at least an hour before eating, but I find that too inconvenient. I just swallow everything at once.
