Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is happy and doing well today. On Thursday I had what my doctor called a Cortrosyn stimulation test done and got the results yesterday, here are the results along with the range that they should be.
Test results-Fasting specimen
***8:25am my results were 3.7***
***Reference range 6-28***
30 minutes post Cortrosyn
***8:55am my results were 6.8***
***Reference range 18-20 or higher***
he said after the stimulation my number should have at least doubled, so it's definite now, I do have Addison’s disease, at least now I no why I've felt so incredibly horrible for so long. Take care everyone and I'll talk to you soon.

How generous of you, Bonaro, to take the time to share with us despite your diagnosis. As you say, at least you know. I had my ACTH Stim test last Friday (no results as yet) and I said to the RN then - "I don't know what to hope for, I want to know why I feel so poorly but I don't want a disease. " I know I am not alone in feeling that way. Well, you are among your peers here on this board and I'm sure they'lll step forward to provide you some support. SQ
Hi SQ,
Well it’s the least I can do, hopefully it will help someone else down the line if they can actually see what the results are supposed to be, mine just had a general reference range but the way the doctor explained it to me he said its different for this test because it’s a stimulation test and he gave me the ranges for the test, I’m still waiting for some of the results to come in, but at least I know now and there’s no more guessing. I hope you find something out soon, I know you don’t want a disease, no one does, but after I started the meds I felt like a new person. Good luck SQ and let me know how everything turns out. Take care and best wishes!!!

Bonnie--Yes, thank you so much for posting your results. I'm sorry that you were diagnosed with Addison's disease, but at least you know what's going on. What a relief that must be for you.
My results were normal range, but I am unsure of how to read it if there are adrenal issues happening, and not a full blown disease process. At least from your results I know mine really are normal, as I was told. I never know what to believe from them sometimes.
According to what your doc said about at least doubling, my test did exactly that. It doubled in number. Thanks again for sharing. Feel better soon! FLFLOWERGIRL
Hi Flowergirl,
Your very welcome, I'm happy to help. Do me a favor and just keep an eye on your levels because and I don't know if I mentioned this and I'm to tired and extremely confused today to go back and read what I've posted, but 9 yrs ago or so they thought I had cushings disease which is the opposite of addison's and my level on urine was 828 and the reference range was 80 or less and my blood level was 76 with a reference range of 4-22 from what the doctor told me I had a spike right before my glands stopped working, and from what he said this is the normal way it happens, now my next question to him is why did they stop working and why do both me and my sister have it, is that normal? These are all questions I want answered but probably will never get any, just like when I found out that I had kidney disease I told them that my cousin who was the same age as me died in 98 from a aortic dissection and he was born with kidney disease so I wanted to know if the kidney disease that I had was the same and they said it probably was but it didn’t matter because they were all treated the same, I said well it may not matter to you but I have five siblings that I’m sure would like to know if they have a chance of getting kidney disease, he said we don’t check to see if it’s the hereditary type because that means another kidney biopsy and we don’t do that, and that was the end of that and I still don’t have any answers to that question. I hope I was some help to you. Talk to you soon, take care and best wishes.
