Smoking cessation alone can lead to weight gain, but I would also be sure to have your thyroid levels checked in your blood, as multiple endocrine problems often occur in people prone to them. There is an autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's thyroiditis) that can lead to hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) that can cause weight gain. Multiple autoimmune disorders often occur together as well. Excess Cortisol replacement can cause weight gain too, so dosage should be checked by endocrinologist.
