possible adrenal problem
i was reading about adrenal fatigue and want to see if i possibly might have it.i have had bad depression ever since i was about 14 years old.iam 28 now,and have tried all a.d. meds u could possibly think of.i had my thyroid tested and that came back normal.(tsh,ft4)my question is if its not my thyroid,can having an adrenal problem would that cause the depression?also would i need to fix the adrenal issue before starting back on meds?thanks

mike291: Get your vitamin B12 levels checked. I know someone who had depression and he now gets monthly shots of B12 and it worked for him and the depression is gone. Get a full work-up done on your vitamin levels.

ill try that next time i go to the doctor.is there anything else i should get tested for?what other vitamin deficiency should i look for?how about testing for my addrenals?

Hi Mike,

How did you get on with this? Did you get a full hormone panel done?

Like you, I suffered from bad depression from 17 to 27 trying various AD medications. They helped, but I never felt I was at 100%.

I did some research and asked for a full hormone panel to be done. As it turned out, my testosterone was extremely low. By going on TRT my mood improved dramatically, to the point where I don't take any AD medication any more.

My doctor has been observing my cortisol (adrenal glands) for a year now, every six months. The test is done with your saliva. You can ask about it at your Dr.'s office. I am being treated with "Adapten-All".

I have been improving since my doctor has been observing my cortisol levels and making recommendations.
