Red face Red in the face

I have never been diagnosed with high blood pressure. At the same time, I have never had the symptom I'm about to describe during a Dr.'s visit. Never thought to ask about it either. Maybe someone else out there has the same problem or knows someone who does.
When I do physical work, exercise or exert myself for any other reason, my face turns sooooo red. It will remain red for great lengths of time. People will ask if I have a sunburn, it is so red. I'm 50ish and come from a mom that has the same problem. Have anything to do with high blood pressure? Or, is it something related to aging? Please forgive me if this turns out to be a dumb question (when my face will be red for another reason).

You might check with a dematologist. I have roseachea, and any physical labor (espically in warm weather) sets it off. It reddens my cheeks, forehead and chin area...it can cause broken veins in the face and nose. I thought it was my blood pressure as well, but turned out to be a skin condition...

Oh, just FYI, I'm 48 and didn't have this problem until I got into my 40's.

I don't think its age-related. My face has always reddened very easily also, a sneeze, a yawn, a cough, bending over, anything, I'm 44 now but have been this way all my life.

Could be medication.
Could be niacin.
Could be some of the above.
HRT?

The list does go on.

Try to elimate some of the things it could be.

for buck58..i dont think the fact that you have always gotten red faces means that its not roscea ..what you describe sounds very typical of roscea and you should see a dermatologist ..my cousin has it and she is on medication for it ..so if it bothered me that is something i would check into
