Re: what would cause feeling of discomfort right under the lower part of the ribcage

It would depend on where exactly it is. If it's on the right side, it could be gallbladder. If it is in the middle, it could be something stomach related. I was having burning in my stomach...(middle) and some nausea back in the spring. The doctor tested me for several things (pancreatitis, liver, etc). He also checked me for h. pylori. Much to my surprise, it came back positive. For a long time, I thought I just had a "weak" stomach. Couldn't eat certain things, etc., and it turns out that this was the problem. I was treated for it, and I'm 100% better. I can't believe I suffered with this for so long.

The ticket is to go to the doctor and check it out. It could be something as simple as mine was. Took some antibiotics (a lot), and it's fixed.

Re: what would cause feeling of discomfort right under the lower part of the ribcage

Thank you Tricia 40 I will ask my doctor to check on that. One of my problems is that I am a Vet so all of my care is done at a VA clinic and unfortunately not only can you not just get on the phone and call your doctor toask a question it may take a month or 2 to get an appointment thats why when I came upon this site I was so thrilled because I knew there had to be other people with similiar problems and was hoping to get some other Ideas as to what could be my problem. Again thank you so much and I will definetly check into that. mickie55
