Fall

Thank you both for your input. Mom fell because she was trying to get a box out from under the bed, which she not have been doing. She turned around to get her walker and her foot got caught in the leg of the walker. I have read on line some medical articles. They all said to apply ice, make sure she rests and keep her leg elevated. I have done that and tonight she was able to stand without too much pain. I spoke to her about going to the hospital and got a NO. She wants to try and see if she gets better on her own. I am not arguing with her for now, but if I see no change in a few days she will have no choice.

Re: Fall

You may want to check with her doctor by phone in the meantime.
I want to say there may be some concerns about internal bleeding but I really don't know...I do remember my doctor telling me that tissue damage can take longer to heal than a broken bone and that was certainly true in my situation. My doctor did encourage me to walk and exercise my leg, as painful as it was to do so.

Hope all's well!
