Need some information and help
My father is a recent stroke patient and is in a nursing house.
Previously he was in the VA hospital with no rehab. The nursing home could only keep him for 20 days, now we have to pay out of pocket or bring him home to care for him.
He can't swallow, wearing diapers and has a feeding tube.

Someone please tell me what to do.

Where's the funding for people who needs it.

Have you contacted your state medicaid office? The VA? They have VA nursing homes but don't know if there is one near you. Also, your local council on aging or the elderly (most large cities have one). You don't say how old he is....did he not have insurance? Any medicare?

If he is eligible for care from the VA he should be eligible for a VA funded nursing facility. Contact the VA hospital where he was a paitient, also there should be a social worker at the nursing home that you can talk to about this. Failing that call your congress persons's closest office.
