anti-aging supplements

I'm 19 years old and I am very interested in what supplements i should take to help "freeze' or "hold back" the aging process. I work in a vitamin store and I have learned a lot! Though, I wonder, do fish oil Omega 3 and C-Q10 help you stay young?

Re: anti-aging supplements

Eat healthy foods. Exercise. Do not smoke or use recreational drugs (legal or illegal), and avoid secondhand smoke and other environmental toxins. Avoid getting sunburned (although getting a little sunlight can help you get vitamin D). Visit your doctor, dentist, and optometrist at the usual intervals for checkups (and dental cleanings) so that problems can be handled early instead of being allowed to get serious enough to do permanent damage.

You cannot prevent getting older. But you can increase your chance of being healthy and active when you are old, rather than being painfully in bed with nothing to do but take dozens of prescription drugs.

Re: anti-aging supplements

Supplements may be attractive to you because they're easy. You just pop one in your mouth and presto! you stay young. If only that were true.

If you would like to learn about slowing down the aging process, try reading "Beyond The 120 Year Diet" by Dr. Roy Walford.

Good luck.

Re: anti-aging supplements

At your age Omega 3 and C-Q10 would do, even just multivitamins. But I think the most important thing you can do is avoiding the sun, use a good sunblock, and exercise like the other poster said.
